Valentine’s Day will soon be here and we all love the idea of celebrating the holiday. Well, for those who may feel nothing but love for Valentine’s Day, here are a few ideas for some fun and quite delicious ways to celebrate. No matter what, you’ll enjoy yourself.
In honor of St. Valentine, Upcountry Provisions will be hosting two different kinds of classes to give you and your sweet a hands-on cooking experience that also results in something delicious to eat.
The chocolate making class will be held from 6 – 7:30 p.m., Feb. 13 and 14 will include an evening spent crafting specialty treats with Pastry Chef Christy Passannante. The $35 admission includes tapas, champagne and recipes. Suggested pairings and cash bar available at additional charge. Class will be held at The Tasting Room, 164 S. Main St., Suite C, Travelers Rest
The artisan pizza class will be held from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10, 13 and 14 includes the techniques to mix, toss, shape, top, and bake crusty artisan pizza. The $35 admission includes pizza, salad, bakery dessert, recipes and of course, champagne. Class will be held at Upcountry Provisions, 6809 State Park Rd., Travelers Rest. Jerky and Vine downtown, is hosting a special wine and chocolate tasting at the store at 36 S. Main St., Greenville.
The tasting will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Feb. 10, and will include five vino De La Tierra De Castillo wines from Love Winery in Napa, California, as well as fresh local chocolates and confections from Coco Bon Chocolatier and Cravings Sweet Treats. Cost is $8 per person or $15 per couple. Participants will also receive a discount on Love Wine and chocolate gift sets for Valentine’s.
Quest Brewing Co. at 55 Airview Road Greenville: 2-5 p.m., Feb 3. With the price of your ticket you get four LaRue Fine chocolates and other yummy things like local cheeses, a tasting glass and of course, some great beer. Live jazz will also be on the menu courtesy of The Claremont Trio. Tickets are $15-$30.
Appalachian Ale House at 205 E. Main St., Pickens: 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Four chocolates will be uniquely paired with two select wines and two craft beers. $25 a person. Limited seating is available.
The Community Tap, 217 Wade Hampton Blvd., Greenville: Two sessions at 6 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. This casual tasting will feature six chocolates from LaRue Fine Chocolate paired with six alcoholic beverage tastes (3 beers/3 wines) from The Community Tap. Cost is $25 per person.
